Joni L. Watson, DNP, MBA, RN, OCN®, describes her calling as “taking care of the people who care for the people.” She has served and led several interprofessional teams impacting innumerable patients her via work through beyond Oncology, the Texas Nurses Association, Baylor Scott & White Health, LIVESTRONG, the American Cancer Society, and the Oncology Nursing Society.

Her key interests include cancer prevention and detection, creativity and innovation in healthcare, and professional uses of social media to advance care.

She has published thousands of nursing blog posts, contributed peer-reviewed articles, and edited print and online materials. Her edited work, Your Guide to Cancer Prevention, won the American Journal of Nursing 2018 Consumer Health Book of the Year.
