The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is a master’s educated nurse who is “prepared for practice across the continuum of care within any health care setting,” according to organizers. The CNL certification was developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in collaboration with leaders from health care practice. The CNL is a clinical leader who focuses on care coordination, outcomes measurement, transitions of care, interprofessional communication and team leadership, risk assessment, implementation of best practices based on evidence, and quality improvement, officials said.

The registration deadline for the spring 2024 certification exam is March 11, 2024. The late deadline and exam change deadlines are March 18, 2024.

The 49^th Annual Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Congress will feature presentations, sessions, networking opportunities, exhibits, and more for oncology nurses. The congress will offer updates focused on clinical practice, management and staff education, research, advanced practice, and radiation. “Thousands of oncology nurses converge at ONS Congress each year, and the energy is palpable,” ONS officials said. “The passion, strength, determination, and knowledge shared among ONS Congress attendees elevate the conference experience beyond education.”

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress 2024 will feature presentations on the latest developments in breast cancer treatment and research from international experts and advocates. The goal of the congress is to “deliver a comprehensive overview of all the practice-changing new data and to make sure it has a clear roadmap to the clinic,” according to ESMO officials. The event will be held in-person and online.

The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) Midyear 2024 Conference is a 4-day hybrid event that “brings oncology’s most influential navigators, social workers, physicians, and administrators together to think boldly and enact change,” according to organizers. The AONN+ midyear event features networking opportunities, the latest information on best practices in oncology navigation, updates on innovations in oncology, and more.

The 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting will feature key research and treatment updates for oncology nurses. The theme of the 2024 meeting, which will offer more than 200 sessions, is “The Art and Science of Cancer Care: From Comfort to Cure.” The annual meeting provides opportunities to “discover state-of-the-art research, groundbreaking treatments, and visionary insights that will ignite your passion for oncology,” ASCO organizers said. It offers in-person and virtual attendance options.

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) 2024 Annual Meeting will provide oncology nurses with updates from leading experts. The meeting features an “in-depth view of the latest research and development in the field” and will offer “insights into practical applications for the clinic,” according to SNMMI.

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gynaecological Cancers Congress 2024 will provide the latest updates on developments in the field. It gives attendees a chance to network, learn about challenges and controversies in the field, brainstorm with peers, and more. “The ESMO Gynaecological Cancers Congress has become an essential annual appointment for oncology professionals treating patients with such malignancies – a place to learn the latest promising news, acquire high-quality education and exchange ideas,” organizers said. The congress offers virtual and in-person attendance options.

The Twelfth Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO) Annual Meeting will offer presentations and sessions focused on the latest developments in hematologic oncology and practical clinical applications of new research. The meeting will feature speakers who are a “multidisciplinary group of internationally recognized experts that represent the spectrum of these diseases,” SOHO officials said. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Translating Knowledge Worldwide” as it relates to the field of hematologic oncology. The hybrid event offers in-person and virtual attendance options.

The program will “foster exchange and debate of translational cancer science, showcase first announcements of potentially practice-changing data and stimulate multidisciplinary discussions to improve treatment options for our patients,” ESMO officials said.

The 2024 American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting will feature educational and scientific sessions, networking opportunities, as well as new and expanded offerings. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Targeting Provider Wellness for Exceptional Patient Care.” The theme was chosen because “being well, treating your physical and mental health as a priority, and living to achieve work-life balance all go a long way toward helping us to serve as a role model for our patients,” ASTRO officials said. “During the meeting, we will highlight various aspects of provider wellness and correlate how that impacts patient care.”

JADPRO Live 2024, the Annual APSHO Meeting, is designed for and by advanced practitioners including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, and advanced degree nurses. The event also welcomes hematologic oncology nurses, students, and physicians. The meeting features presentations, special sessions, opportunities for advanced education and networking, and more.

The 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) will bring together clinicians and researchers from around the world for panel discussions, presentations, poster sessions, and more. The SABCS meeting features critical research updates on improving the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, evidence-based care considerations, and other important information on breast cancer for oncology nurses.

The 66^th American Society for Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition will offer critical updates on the latest treatment and research developments in hematologic oncology. The ASH meeting features plenary lectures, educational sessions, workshops, poster presentations, trainee activities, and more. It offers in-person and virtual attendance options.
