Anna Barata, PhD, of the Massachusetts General Hospital, joined Cancer Nursing Today to discuss the 66th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition and why it represents a critical time to move the field forward.
“ASH is one of the most prestigious conferences worldwide,” Dr. Barata said.
This year’s ASH meeting features an abstract by Dr. Barata and colleagues demonstrating how pre-transplant patient-reported outcomes are associated with health care utilization and transplant-related complications such as graft-versus-host-disease at one year after transplant.
“I’m eager and looking forward to discussing these findings with colleagues worldwide and thinking about the next steps, and how to best how to improve the care for patients undergoing transplant,” Dr. Barata said.
The abstract, titled “Pre-Transplant Patient-Reported Outcomes Are Associated with Health Care Utilization and Transplant-Related Complications at One-Year Post-Transplant” will be presented during a poster session from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.
